Re: Early Mickey 'rap' version of 'Fire' |
Damn, this question sent me on a search of my hard drives. I couldn't figure out where it was, because I couldn't remember the year. Anyways, I had it filed under Mickey Hart.
It's a file set titled Mickey Hart and the Marin County Collective. It's dated 72-73 and doesn't give an exact date. It's a compilation of 2 different "sessions." One is titled Area Code 451 sessions and the other is titled Fire on the mountain sessions. I just listened to the Fire on the Mountain & it is definitely what you're looking for. I'm not sure where I obtained it, but I believe it was from one of the bit torrent sites. I can reseed it there if you like or I can send you a copy.
There are quite a few musicians on the different tracks: Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Steven Schuster, Barry Melton, John Cippolina, David Frieberg, Robert Hunter, Kate McDonald and Jim McPherson all sit in at one time or another.
Let me know if I can help you obtain this.
